# Upload Bandwidth Management

Management Points in Configuration Manager (ConfigMgr) send policy information to clients, as well as collect inventory information for each device. In the case where inventory is set to run on a specified schedule, clients will upload inventory data to their MP at the same time, thus possibly causing network disruption.

Client Data Upload Bandwidth Management allows you to control how many clients are concurrently uploading to their specified Management Points within Configuration Manager. This will help remediate any potential network disruptions.

For instance, if you have client in a location that are known to have a faster or slower connection to their MPs, you can modulate how many concurrent uploads for each target group.

This setting creates a system default for concurrent uploads for the following:

* Hardware Inventory
* File Collection
* Status Messages
* Software Inventory
* Software Metering
* Discovery Data

You also have the ability to override the global setting for select target groups with the **Override Settings**.

## Enabling Client Data Upload Bandwidth Management

1. Click **Settings > Upload Bandwidth Management**.

   ![](/files/4rWOfeLrkRxrLV1iNo6h)
2. Toggle **ON** **Enable Upload Bandwidth Management**.
3. Enter a number value for each type of inventory data.

   By default, all of the values are set to 0 which means there is no limit on the number of concurrent machines that can perform the specific activity.
4. Click **Save**.

This will set the global setting that will apply to all clients. If you would like to override for specific target groups, you can apply **Override Settings**.

1. Click **Add Override Setting** to create a new override.
2. Enter the **Name** of the policy override.
3. Modify the settings for the actions available.
4. Click **Browse** to choose the collection/group to target for the override.
5. Click **OK**.
6. Click **Save**.
