Health Checks
Health checks are a core building block to creating Health Policies. They are made up of Activities and Workflows which give you the opportunity to customize health checks to suit your specific needs. Creating a health check does not automatically run the check, it is simply used to create a health check object to use within a Health Policy.
Health checks dictate what desired state (health check workflow) and what optional remediation (remediation workflow) you will use in your Health Policy. This will tell you if your client devices meet the desired state (compliance) and remediate any device that does not (non-compliant).
OneSite Health provides many built-in Health Checks that cover the majority of cases.
Creating a health check with custom custom activities and workflows is an advanced topic. Please reach out to our Support Team for further assistance
Built-in Health Checks
OneSite Health boasts over 100 built-in health checks many with remediation workflows included. To view the full list, select Health Checks from the side navigation. You can click the expand arrow (>) to find more information about the individual health check, including a description of what it scans and whether or not a remediation is present.
For a full list of built-in Health Check and Remediation descriptions, please see our Appendix - Health Checks and Appendix - Remediations pages.
Additionally, you can click the name of any health check to alter or view further settings.

Explore a health check
To view these settings, you can select Health Checks from the side navigation, select an existing health check or click + New. Below are setting descriptions associated with a Health Check.
General Settings

Name - Unique name.
(Optional) Description - A useful description of what your health check scans and if a remediation workflow is selected.
Health Check Workflow and Remediation

Health Check Workflow and Maximum Execution Time - This allows you to choose from built-in Health Check Workflows available and how long your workflow is allowed to execute.
Typically Health Checks are fairly quick in their execution (such as checking a version number) so the default is set to 5 minutes.
(Optional) Remediation Workflow and Maximum Execution Time - This allows you to choose from built-in Remediation Workflows available how long your workflow is allowed to execute.
Keep in mind, some Remediation may take more time to execute than Health Checks.
Health Check Parameters

This section allows you to select or create a form. You can either choose from built-in forms or create your own custom form. For more information regarding creating custom forms, please contact our Support Team.
Once the form is selected and populated, you can enter the parameters associated with your health check. This is the value(s) that your health policy will check against when ran. For instance, if you enter the specific version number here and this health check is added to a policy and run, it will check against your entered value(s).

Results History Purging
This setting determines the history of health policy executions for devices. The most recent result of a health policy on a client is always available. For example, a health policy has been executed on a client two times in the last 30 days. If the History Purged After (days) setting is set to 15 days you, will only see the the most recent result.
